Vocational Case Manager- Outreach

Program Description:
Our Comprehensive Employment Services (CES) Program, prepares individuals with barriers to employment to successfully enter the workforce. They provide customized services for people with chemical dependency, ex-offenders and individuals with co-occurring disorders. All participants receive comprehensive vocational assessments, job preparation and employment retention services. CES works closely with NYC businesses and industries to develop job opportunities for their participants.
 
Job Summary:   
The VMC- Outreach works with referral partners to obtain client referrals to our programs and conduct client intakes.They will assist clients with career counseling and decision making to support employment goals. Provide both Pre-Employment and Post-Employment support and retention.


  • Outreach to partner agencies in NYC to specifically market programs and services and recruit clients into the program. Responsible also for client enrollment to meet program goals and targets.
  • Educate clients, agencies and residential programs about NADAP’s services through presentations. Identify new referral partners for program intakes.
  • Provide retention services to clients. Address any conflicts with the position, treatment program, or legal services. Call clients regularly and remind them to bring in appropriate pay stubs. This can include calling emergency contacts, employers, outside agency counselors, use of The Work Number, etc.
  • Responsible for compiling milestone packets to request final incentive check. Document achieved milestones and distribute incentives in a timely fashion.
  • Recruit and screen clients for program eligibility and enrollment. Conduct regular orientation sessions for prospective clients. Provide them with a clear explanation of the services NADAP provides. Answer any client questions and encourage them to return for vocational assistance. Complete employment assessments at intake and screen clients for eligibility.
  • Conduct weekly employment workshops. Assess clients and assist them with identifying a viable employment option and address any barriers. Devise an individual employment plan for each client and discuss the skills they need to achieve their long and short term goals. Update or create new resumes for each client. Ensure each client is able to clearly articulate their skill set, answer basic interview questions, and complete job-applications.
  • Maintain detailed, accurate and timely notes regarding client progress, 1-4 notes per client per month depending on placement status. Collaborates with other CES staff to ensure clients' needs are addressed and the job developers are identifying job opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other team members to coordinate and facilitate employment readiness, placement, and retention activities. Meet with job developers to discuss client progress.
  • Work with and assist CRPA in identifying and developing community-based resources, including clothing referrals, low-income housing, access to cell phones, food stamps, etc.
  • Maintain positive rapport with referring counselors. Identify new referral sources and attending presentations or vendor fairs. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • At least one year of related work expeirence in workforce development
  • Able to engage potential clients in NADAP's CES program, resulting in enrollment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Experince using Outlook, Excel and entering information accurately in a database
 
Hybrid schedule: in office and remote days, working at our Midtown East office
