The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a non-profit, bipartisan public policy organization established in 1962 to provide strategic insights and practical policy solutions to decision makers in government, international institutions, the private sector, and civil society. Over the years, it has grown to be one of the largest organizations of its kind, with a staff of more than 200 employees working to address the changing dynamics of international security across the globe.
CSIS is seeking a Program Coordinator (PC) to join the Project on Prosperity and Development (PPD). The Project on Prosperity and Development studies the central role of the private sector, private actors, and emerging actors in development with the U.S. Government. Trade and free enterprise are the engines of prosperity and development. Governments play an essential role in providing public good provisions that underpin freedom and prosperity. Most products and services, however, will be and are delivered by an increasing number of non-state actors. This program provides recommendations to ensure that the United States possesses the tools necessary to remain the preeminent player in global development in the 21st century and, by extension, is better positioned to achieve its foreign policy and national security goals.
The PC is responsible for administrative support to the Director and project. This position is ideal for someone who is looking to gain experience in administrative and project management. Incumbent reports to the Associate Director. The salary for this role is $50,000 annually. This position is required to report to the office full time Monday through Friday at CSIS’ Washington, D.C. location.


Essential duties and responsibilities


Essential functions may include, but are not limited to, the following• Strategically manages the Director’s schedule and all related scheduling correspondences with the oversight of the Associate Director
• Manages social media accounts and distribution calendar
• Assists the Associate Director with overall program budget management
• Manages the submission of monthly credit card reports
• Assists with travel arrangements and itineraries for Director
• Regularly updates and maintains PPD website and contact database
• Assists with planning and executing program meetings and small events and note taking
• Assists with podcasts and other projects as assigned from the Director
• Other administrative tasks as needed

Knowledge, education, and experience

• Associates, B.A. or B.S. degree
• Capability to operate under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
• Sound judgment and the ability to operate with discretion and flexibility is essential
• A mature attitude and approach to work and the ability to prioritize and execute tasks on tight deadlines
• Ability to write, think, operate, and follow up both independently and as part of a team
• Able to interact with and respond to questions from a range of individuals with diverse interests and backgrounds
• Strong organization and communication skills
• Superior copyediting and proofreading capacity
• Previous experience with Adobe InDesign, website management, Salesforce, and Pardot all a plus
