2023 - Summer Analyst Internship - Enterprise Data Management

BUSINESS OVERVIEW:
The Enterprise Data Management Department was created in 2015 to setup, drive and continuously improve the way data is handled throughout the organization in the U.S. under the leadership of the CIB/AM Chief Data Officer. It looks to satisfy the requirements related to principles for effective enterprise data aggregation and reporting, and is intended to support evolving regulatory requirements. Specifically the team provides support to all other units within EDMS (Data Management, Data Governance, and Data Quality) and handles directly a number of projects.
The EDMS Department has been established with the following three pillars:
  • Data Governance: set the framework for developing and formalizing the “know your data” culture including formal governance forums, data certification and attestation processes. The team also captures, challenges, and tests the control framework of the bank in particular through a risk-based data trace program. The program includes Data Privacy and Protection program, focused on ensuring regulatory compliance and application of Group and Industry best practices around protection and classification of personal data.
  • Data Management: determine the data strategy for the platform with the objective of identifying and adopting golden sources, capturing and maintaining data glossaries and dictionaries, business and functional lineage from source to output as well as managing referential data
  • Data Quality: establish a framework to assess and report on the quality of the data used for reporting purposes and an effective remediation team

  • Complete technical projects and collaborate with colleagues across the Bank, gaining exposure to real work in order to identify your skills and explore where your interests align
  • Participate in weekly senior speaker events and roundtable discussions to gain a comprehensive understanding of financial markets and the industry
  • Network with colleagues and learn about industry topics through workshops and speaker series, as well as through philanthropy and social events

COMPENSATION:
The annualized base salary for this position in Jersey City, NJ is $75,000.
