Research Assistant I-Division of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine and The Center for Lung Research

The Division of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine and The Center for Lung Research at CHOP is dedicated to understanding the mechanisms underlying lung diseases and developing new strategies to prevent and treat these disorders. Studies in the McGrath-Morrow Laboratory encompass a spectrum of basic and patient-oriented research in neonatal lung injury, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, ataxia-telangiectasia, and predisposing factors leading to adult lung disease. Genetic mouse models and in vitro systems are utilized to understand the cell biology and mechanisms of pathogenesis. Her laboratory is focused on alveolar and vascular responses of the neonatal lung to hyperoxia and signaling disruption, the relationship between neonatal lung injury and abnormal lung function in the adult, immune responses of the neonatal lung to acute lung injury, and identifying pathways to optimize lung recovery. Effects of secondhand smoke and E-cigarette vapors on lung development.
