Accounting Intern

Peconic Land Trust is a non-profit organization with the mission of conserving Long Island’s working farms, natural lands, and heritage for our communities now and in the future. Our Accounting Department is looking for an Accounting Intern who is detailed oriented and willing to learn accounting while providing some basic office back up.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Answering the phones and transferring calls to the right department
  • Picking up, sorting mail, and organizing the Accounts Payable bills.
  • Entering and scanning the Accounts Receivables
  • Maintaining and reconciling the petty cash box
  • Organizing and filing credit receipts
  • Other duties as needed

Qualified Candidates will possess:
  • Currently studying Accounting or Finance at an accredited University
  • Basic Understanding of Accounting principles
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively in a demanding environment
  • Must be responsible and possess the ability to exercise good judgment and follow-through on tasks independently
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude
