Junior Database Administrator

OTC Markets, operator of premier US market places, is seeking an Informix knowledgeble Database Administrator to join our IT Infrastructure team! This is a great opportunity for a technology professional interested in working for an industry leader in financial technology.
Please note, due to COVID-19, OTC Markets is currently operating in a hybrid work environment (3 days in office, 2 days remotely).

Responsibilities:
- Work with application developers and other teams in designing and implementing database solutions
- Maintain database instances – performance tuning, monitoring, backup policies, access policies, disaster recovery, monitoring.
- Design, develop and maintain complex SQL programs, scripts, and reports
- Work with ETL and Business Intelligence (BI) Tools, configure ODBC/JDBC drivers, to transfer/download data between databases.
- Provide production/on-call support
 
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science/related field, and/or appropriate certifications
- Exposure to MySQL/MariaDB/Postgres databases, MSSQL and scripting tools – shell/perl strongly preferred
- Familiarity with AWS services, like S3, RDS, Athena, EC2, etc.
- Linux experience preferred
- Performance monitoring & tuning experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to function in a production support environment and make informed real-time decisions based on business priorities and implications.
