Engineer II, Sustaining

To continue our extraordinary growth, we are hiring an Engineer II, Sustaining Engineering located in Billerica, MA.  
 
What You’ll Do:
  • Lead, execute, and report on sustaining engineering projects that improves instrument reliability, margin improvement, and product enhancements.
  • Facilitate the resolution of manufacturing, field service, and customer problems; and subsequently drive engineering solutions to improve or correct product or process issues.
  • Drive change orders to detail engineering solutions throughout the organization, and coordinate implementation for smooth transitions of changes within manufacturing operations.
  • Swiftly troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis on electro-mechanical instrumentation.
  • Interact with vendors and purchasing to resolve issues with current and future product materials and assemblies, and evaluate potential future vendors for capability, cost, and quality.
  • Drive and manage escalated customer incidents across functional disciplines, ensuring timely response and closure.
  • Follow the Product Life Cycle from inception through end-of-life from a manufacturing perspective, interacting with R&D, Purchasing, Quality, and Manufacturing personnel, understanding issues & needs and advocating & driving appropriate responses across the organization.
  • Document project schedules and provide technical reports.
  • Develop or revise technical service bulletins to drive training content to our Field Service Engineers (FSE).
  • Provide training to FSEs and manufacturing for any new processes or procedures.
  • Operate a positive working relationship between Quanterix and external manufacturing and engineering firms.
  • Be a key stakeholder in the field RMA process to drive material disposition and tracking of warranty parts back to our contract manufacturers.
 
What We’ll Expect From You: 
  • Bachelor's degree and hands-on experience in a physical sciences or engineering discipline.
  • 2-5 years of industry experience and instrumentation troubleshooting.
  • Experience driving external third-party collaboration, product design transfer, and manufacturing support and transfer.
  • Experience with regulated medical devices or analogous systems desirable.
  • Excellent engineering troubleshooting skills and technical communication .
  • A general understanding of Solidworks is desirable.
  • Collaborative spirit, positive attitude, strong work ethic.
  • Some domestic and international travel.
