Pre-K Teacher for Early Learning Center

Meeting Street, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing services to children and families in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, is seeking a motivated team player to serve as the Pre-K Teacher in the Early Learning Center. As the Pre-K Teacher you will facilitate interaction among children to provide opportunities for emotional, social, and cognitive growth. You will monitor the developmental progress of each child through observation and data collection using Teaching Strategies Gold or other data collecting software as necessary. Using such data to inform and develop curriculum. You will actively participate in and supports efforts to maintain NAEYC accreditation, Brightstars quality rating, RI DCYF and RI Department of Education licensing regulations. You will demonstrate positive guidance techniques with children including redirection, modeling appropriate behavior and praise. You will foster the development of age-appropriate self-help skills in children (diapering/ toileting/ feeding/dressing). You will create and implement a curriculum that promotes active learning by providing a variety of developmentally appropriate learning experiences, making appropriate accommodations and modifications as necessary using RI Early Learning Development Standards as guidance. You will partner with families to ensure high quality care and education for children.

Requirements
This position requires that you have a Bachelor’s degree in either Early Childhood Education, child development or related field. You will need to have a current RIDE teacher certification in Early Childhood Education (PK -2). A special education certification (early childhood) is preferred. As well as RIELDS Foundations of Early Education and Implementing a Standards-Based Classroom (formerly RIELS level 2 or 3). This position also requires a valid CPR and First Aid training/certification. COVID-19 vaccination is required.
