Position: Senior Drug Overdose Epidemiologist 
Office of Statistics and Evaluation 
 
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced Epidemiologist with a passion for advancing public health and improving the lives of individuals across the Commonwealth.  
 
This incumbent will serve as a valued member of the Injury Surveillance Program team to coordinate and oversee the data collection and abstraction for the State Unintentional Drug Overdose Reporting System (SUDORS). With a focus on data related to drug overdose, this position will be responsible for data collection and analysis, database management, evaluation, report preparation, dissemination and provision of technical assistance to program staff and contracted agencies. These data are fundamental to informing strategic planning, coordinating communication, providing outreach, and contributing to cross-departmental initiatives related to substance abuse and addiction services.   
 
Skills essential for success include, but are not limited to the following: 
  • More than 5 years of experience in epidemiology. 
  • A demonstrated commitment to health equity. 
  • Preference: Master's of Public Health with a focus on social and behavioral health.
