Position Title: Associate, Mobile Makerspace (Part-time) Temporary ( Summer - December 2022) 
Location: Little Rock, Arkansas
Department: Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub 
 
POSITION SUMMARY

Position Purpose: The Innovation Hub Associate, Mobile Makerspace is a part-time position dedicated to educating students through STEAM activities as part of our Mobile Makerspace program. This is an educator role that will be trained to teach all our current platforms and assist in planning new platforms to offer. 
Position Overview: The Associate, Mobile Makerspace will travel locally and regionally with other educators to teach our STEAM programming in schools and communities that request our Mobile Makerspace. This position reports to the Senior Officer, Education and works with the education team to deliver exceptional STEAM programming for the Innovation Hub.  
 
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES 
Major Responsibilities 
  • Prepare supplies and equipment needed for Mobile Makerspace visits. 
  • Load van or trailer with the supplies and equipment for Mobile Makerspace. 
  • Prepare classrooms and booths at off-site locations in timely manner. 
  • Teach and facilitate activities for ages 8 to adults as classroom lessons or as walk-up activities at events. 
  • Drive the van, Mobile Makerspace truck, and trailer for offsite events. 
  • Keep track of detailed information, including but not limited to number of students taught and mileage for offsite events. 
  • Work with other educators and education team members to improve programming and present new ideas for platforms to offer. 
  • Organize the supplies in the education department that is utilized for the Mobile Makerspace. 
  • Assist the education team and Innovation Hub staff with other duties as needed. 
 
 POSITION QUALIFICATIONS 
Education: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in any STEAM field, Education, or equivalent experience relevant to STEAM education, required. 
Experience:  
  • Experience working in an area of STEAM related education preferred. 
  • Experience teaching children and adults preferred. 
Computer/Technical Skills:  
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.). 
  • Google and SharePoint knowledge a plus. 
  • Accurate and precise attention to detail. 
Communication Skills:  
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to write clearly and concisely. 
Language: Fluency in English is required. 
Required Travel:  
  • Regular local travel required. 
  • Occasional regional and overnight travel may be required, as needed, in Pulaski County. 
Position-Specific Skills:  
  • Strong organizational skills coordinating a variety of tasks simultaneously. 
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.  
  • Experience as “maker” (artist, craftsmen, engineer, musician), graphic design, experience in entrepreneurship development in education, creative and collaborative is required. 
  • Ability to be punctual and work flexible hours depending on scheduling needs.  
Physical Demands:  
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. moving and setting up equipment and supplies. 
  • This position typically requires sitting for long periods of office work, standing, bending, and reaching, and lifting. 
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
