Associate Editor, CFO Dive

CFO Dive is looking for an associate editor who can learn about and contribute to our coverage of the issues that are most important to CFOs and other finance executives. These issues involve accounting and budgeting, financial planning and analysis, capital raising, inflation, talent acquisition, and cybersecurity, to name a few.

The candidate will report, write and edit stories that analyze these trends and issues, ultimately helping to inform our readership on decisions finance executives have to make in the areas of strategy, operations, compliance, technology, risk management, and leadership.

You will cultivate a beat, manage a social media strategy, assist in planning and executing big projects, interview newsmakers, develop relationships with key industry sources and experts, chase down important stories and collaborate with the CFO Dive team. You will have regular editing responsibilities and a role in producing daily and weekly newsletters.

This position reports to the Managing Editor.

What you can bring to the table:

  • A proven track record of strong writing and editing skills.
  • Ability to learn a topic area and take ownership of beats through original reporting and source building.
  • Ability to edit for copy and grammar, as well as flow, balance and subject matter content.
  • An aptitude and passion for business news and smart story selection for a business-to-business (B2B) audience.
  • Tuned-in instincts and ability to interpret and analyze key business trends.
  • Ability to drive reader response through social media.
  • Deadline-oriented time-management skills.
  • A proven track record of 1 to 3 years of writing and editing skills.
