Development & Events Coordinator

Position: Development & Events Coordinator
Reports To: CDO
Position Type: Full-Time
Location: Flexible - Kendall Square
Compensation: $40,000-$50,000 annual salary

InnerCity Weightlifting’s mission is to amplify the voice and agency of people who have been most impacted by systemic racism and mass incarceration. We partner with program participants through case management and careers in and beyond personal training. Individuals are elevated as experts in fitness and the social issues they've lived. Position Overview: The Development & Events Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the development team with grants, individual donors, and events. The Development & Events Coordinator will (1) Write and submit grant applications and reports, (2) Research, coordinate, and track individual donors, and (3) Coordinate the planning of our annual events and campaigns and plan new events/campaigns that will increase awareness and generate philanthropic revenue for the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
Grants
  • Research new funding opportunities, ensuring a solid pipeline of grant opportunities each quarter
  • Assist Development Manager in coordinating the grants schedule, ensuring all grants & reports are submitted on time
  • Complete and submit all assigned grant proposals and reports before deadlines
  • File and organize all proposal materials with 100% accuracy
  • Maintain updated standard attachments for grant proposals
  • Regularly update Salesforce to reflect progress with grant proposals and reports
  • Issue tax receipt & acknowledgment letters for all grants
  • Record & distribute notes for bi-weekly Development meetings

Individual Donors
  • Assist Development Manager in tracking individual donations & individual donor data
  • Conduct individual donor research for existing and prospective donors
  • Issue tax receipt & acknowledgment letters for all donations
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward Elexson’s Club donors (individuals who give over $1K annually)
  • Prepare meaningful and effective communications with donors and prospects, including quarterly reports
  • Assist the Development Manager in creating individual donor engagement strategies
  • Manage ICW’s donor management system in Network for Good
  • Leverage personal and corporate training client base to generate more individual donors

Events
  • Shape and oversee the calendar of fundraising events and campaigns
  • Serve as the lead planner for all annual events, including the Fittest Company Challenge, Summer Workout, Civic Discussion Series, as well as fundraising campaigns, including GivingTuesday, May Matching Campaign, Peer-to-Peer fundraisers, holiday auction/raffle, and in-kind gift drives
  • Engage and collaborate with other team members across the organization to build out a robust fundraising strategy

Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years professional experience in fundraising, event management, or related field is preferred
  • Experience within relationship management
  • Project management skills, which include communication, collaboration, time management, organization, etc
  • Experience with fundraising tools/software, Google products (Google sheets), and Eventbrite to track, monitor, and manage grants, donations, and events.
