Community Engagement Coordinator VISTA
Complete a year of service as an AmeriCorps VISTA with the Duluth Community School Collaborative in Duluth, Minnesota!
The Community Engagement Coordinator VISTA will support Duluth Community School Collaborative in 3 major areas:
- Events: Collaborate with our staff to plan and implement in-person family and community engagement events at our three school sites (Myers-Wilkins Elementary, Lincoln Park Middle School, and Denfeld High School) and at community sites.
- Communication: Support communication efforts to reach families, students, community members, and community partners, including through an organizational newsletter, social media, website, blog posts, and individual outreach.
- Volunteers: Assess volunteer needs and opportunities to expand and improve programming through volunteers at each school site. Recruit and retain volunteers through our communication channels and partner organizations.
The position offers a small bi-weekly living allowance (currently $575.40) and the option of a $6,495 education award or $3,000 cash stipend instead at the completion of service, as well as other benefits through AmeriCorps. If you relocate more than 50 miles, you are eligible for a one-time $750 allowance to help with moving costs. As part of the Ecolibrium3 cohort in northeastern Minnesota, you will have access to additional professional development, training and connections with other VISTAs in the area.

Duluth Community School Collaborative is located on a bus line, and though a car is recommended as you will sometimes travel between our school sites, it is not necessary for the position.
