        The Development Program provides in excess of $50 million in private support annually toward the mission of The Rockefeller University, which is to improve the understanding of life for the benefit of humanity. Working with the Board of Trustees and volunteer groups including The Rockefeller University Council, the Committee on Trust and Estate Plans, and the Women and Science and Parents and Science Initiatives, the Development Office oversees all private fund-raising at the University, including annual, capital, and endowment campaigns.

The Gift Entry and Data Support Assistant will provide key support for fund-raising operations and infrastructure in the MIS area of the Development Office.

Responsibilities:

  • Processing of all gifts of checks, credit cards, cash, and securities.
  • Preparing gifts for deposit and transmission to the Finance office.
  • Data entry/tracking of gifts, receipts, and demographic data into the Development database.
  • Developing ad-hoc queries to support the office's data reporting requests and coordinating all necessary IT work.
  • Taking a leadership role in the management of the Development Office's technology.
  • Will be trained and responsible for helping troubleshoot simple desktop problems, generating and troubleshooting data reports, assisting in training staff members in the use of new and current software, and collaborating with other groups within the department to better support the data reporting needs of the office.

Requirements:
  • High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree and previous office workplace experience with a focus on bookkeeping and data entry preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, be detail oriented, and a self-starter.
  • Work both as a team player and independently, handle with confidential data with care, and possess strong computer skills.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, have good problem-solving and analytical skills, the ability to multitask, and the ability to follow directions, complex policies, and procedures.
  • Proficiency with MS Office software required and experience with fundraising database software (e.g., The Raiser's Edge and Blackbaud CRM) a strong plus.
