Development Assistant I- Foundations Relations and Grants Management

We seek a Development Assistant, who will work as part of a small team focused on foundation relations, in a highly collaborative Development Office dedicated to raising funding for biomedical research. The Development Assistant will work with at least three professional-staff members in the areas of philanthropic support (foundations/individuals) and development communications

Responsibilities

  • Draft, proofread, and copy edit written materials (letters, proposals, budgets, reports, briefing materials, and promotional pieces).
  • Track proposal/reporting deadlines and donor cultivation/stewardship requirements.
  • Assist with the administration of grants and fellowships.
  • Organize site visits and assist in staffing donor events.
  • Maintain database records and assisting with general office duties (phone, mail, etc.).

Who You Are

  • Have a Bachelor's degree.
  • Strong communication, proofreading, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prepare professional-looking documents.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel (experience with databases and other programs, such as PowerPoint, Keynote, Photoshop, and Illustrator, a plus).
  • Exceptional attention to details and deadlines.
  • Able to work with diverse personalities in a fast-paced environment.
  • An interest in science is a plus.
