ARCK Teaching Artist
Position: Teaching Artist
Reports to: Director of Creative Programs
Category: Part-time (15-20 hours/week), In-Person with some remote work
Expected Start and End Dates: August 22, 2022 through June 30, 2023
Salary Range: $25/hr
Art Resource Collaborative for Kids (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit) is seeking an artist and creative educator with a passion for teaching K-8 students. The Teaching Artist will work directly with students to help ARCK close the creativity gap and prepare students to be creative thinkers, doers, and makers.
Job Description: As a Teaching Artist you will collaborate with ARCK’s Education Team to:
- Teach multi-disciplinary creative projects in K-8 classrooms in Boston Public Schools.
- Develop and iterate curriculum for ARCK’s Creators Program, which develops students’ Integrated Creative Mindset, Social Emotional and Relational Awareness, and Social Justice and Equity mindset.
- Educate in a manner consistent with ARCK’s Teaching Values in order to meet the needs of all students.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate ARCK’s lessons with classroom content, as appropriate.

- A resourceful educator enthusiastic about multi-disciplinary, project-based student experiences
- Able to engage students in the creative process to support the academic and personal growth of the whole student
- Committed to social justice, equity, and social-emotional wellbeing for all
- A reflexive practitioner who enjoys working in creative, collaborative spaces
Ideal Qualifications:
- Active artistic practice in any creative medium including visual arts and design, digital media, creative writing, dance, drama, and/or music
- Experience in developing project-based curriculum
- Experience teaching in grades K-8
- Experience working with under-resourced schools or communities
- Detail-oriented and extremely organized
- Ability to set weekly, short- and long-term priorities, and work both independently and as part of a dynamic team
- Possess strong written, verbal, and graphic communication skills
- Knowledge of technological tools and ability to use technology in the classroom
- Bi-lingual English and Spanish preferred
