The U.S. Department of Energy, Office of the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy is seeking a key member of the leadership team to support the Office of Vehicle Technologies (VTO). The mission of VTO is to develop clean, efficient transportation technologies that lower greenhouse gas emissions, improve affordability and increase mobility options to create a more equitable U.S. transportation sector through planning, managing and executing a comprehensive RDD&D portfolio. This portfolio includes light- and heavy-duty vehicle electrification and hybrid systems spanning batteries, power electronics, and EV charging; developing technologies to decarbonize off-road, maritime, rail and aviation; propulsion subsystems and electric machines, advanced engines, lightweight and other advanced materials, heavy-duty vehicle systems, advanced and alternative fuels new lightweight and other advanced materials to support future vehicle technologies; new mobility systems including automation and connectivity and new mobility services; the national Clean Cities Coalitions Program; and programs to work with local, state and regional communities to plan for and implement new transportation technologies.
