Job Purpose
Plans, coordinates, directs, develops, and implements recruiting and outreach programs aimed at growing enrollments in the School of Sciences and Mathematics and providing educational engagement initiatives for K-12 students in the region.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent communication (written and oral) skills, outgoing personality, and team player. Attention to detail and ability to coordinate events. Ability to work independently. Experience updating websites and generate high-impact social media content.
Additional Comments Regarding Position
Must be willing to travel in-town, out-of-town, and out-of-state to recruiting events and high schools, primarily during the Fall semester (September-December). Must be willing to coordinate special events during the Spring semester (January-April). Must be willing to coordinate pre-college programs during the Summer semester (June-July). Must have a valid SC driver’s license and be able to lift boxes up to 30 pounds.

1. Attends local, regional, and national prospective student recruiting events and other engagement events in order to increase awareness of all degree programs in the School of Sciences and Mathematics (SSM), grow the number of freshmen/transfer applications to SSM majors, and ultimately grow the number of students majoring in SSM programs at CofC.

Coordinates all aspects of K-12 engagement events on campus (or in Charleston) such as the Charleston STEM Festival, student group campus visits and tours, the annual Lowcountry Regional Science and Engineering Fair, summer pre-college programs, and other STEM education days with campus partners.
