HAMILTON HIRING EVENT!

The Kennedy Center is currently hiring seasonal part-time Sales Associates to join us for our production of Hamilton!

Compensation: $16.10/hour

Perks: Discount tickets for select shows, KC swag offered to hiring event participants (while supplies last), shuttles to/from the Foggy Bottom metro stop, high-energy team, potential for permanent part-time opportunities, free performances on the Millennium Stage, Discount vouchers at KC Café and Gift Shops.

Length of Assignment: Now through mid-October with the potential to be extended during the holidays. Due to the very limited tenure of this position, only applicants who can commit to the entire duration of the assignment will be considered. 

Interview Dates: Candidates who are invited to interview will need to be available on one of the following dates/times. Interviews will be held onsite at the Kennedy Center in a group setting and short individual interview.
  • Mondays, July 11 and 18 from 5 pm to 6 pm
  • Saturdays, July 9 and 16 from 4 to 5 pm

Working Shifts:
  • Typical evening shifts are Wednesday – Sunday evenings 5:30 pm - 11:00 pm
  • Typical weekend day shifts are Saturday and Sunday 12:30 pm – 5:30 pm
  • Concessions shifts are 3 to 4 hours, similar time frames for evening and weekend shifts

Reporting to:
Retail Operations Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Selling performance merchandise at kiosks and the gift shop
  • Overseeing and replenishing shop displays and/or refreshment carts

Key Qualifications:
  • You have a high school diploma or GED
  • You have cash-handling experience in retail or the hospitality industry
  • You are dependable and have reliable transportation
  • You have a flexible schedule and would be available to work weekends and evenings
  • You are comfortable using the latest technology, including iPads and Square Payments Processing, and have cash handling experience
  • You love to interact with customers and have a naturally friendly and outgoing personality
  • You are able to remain calm and collected in a busy, fast-paced environment

Work Environment:
Kennedy Center employees are required to wear masks when in public spaces. Candidates who are offered a position will be asked to confirm their COVID-19 vaccination status (accommodation requests for religious and/or medical reasons will be considered).
