This position is located in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marines Fisheries Service (NMFS), Office of Protected Resources (PR) with two vacancies in Silver Spring, MD. 

As a Biologist, you will perform the following duties:
  • Support the coordination of national marine mammal conservation and recovery programs on priority activities related to the recovery and health of North Atlantic right whales, other large whales, small cetaceans, and pinnipeds. Assist with implementing recovery and conservation actions for marine mammals pursuant to the MMPA and/or ESA. Support the Marine Mammal Health and Stranding Response Program.
  • Support the review and development of regulatory and non‐regulatory documents related to the conservation of marine mammals under the Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA), Endangered Species Act (ESA), and/or National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
  • Assist with monitoring and follow‐up on grants, contracts, and other agreements. Assist with information management and data review, including quality assurance/quality control. Assist with clearance and record keeping of agency documents, including collating and responding to public comments. Compile administrative records and responses to requests for information.
  • Support outreach and education activities related to marine mammal conservation and recovery, including leading development of and/or reviewing content for websites and preparation of annual or periodic reports.
