Second Day Impact Fellow

At Second Day, we want to arm changemakers with all the tools they need to build a social impact career. The Impact Fellowship matches you with a paid internship at a mission-driven organization. Here are just a few of the organizations that have hosted our Impact Fellows in the past few years:
  • iCivics
  • BUILD
  • Southwest Angel Network
  • Bell Creek Consulting
  • Nonprofit HR
  • Jerusalem Peacebuilders
  • The Jewish Federations of North America
  • Umanity.io
  • Mi Familia Vota

Additionally, you’ll do virtual weekly professional development training led by social impact professionals to ensure success in your fellowship and prepare you for a long-term career taking on our world’s most challenging issues. Some of the topics we cover include:
  • Social impact industry deep-dives: What types of mission-driven organizations are out there? How do you identify the one that is right for you and step into it? How do you think about impact across sectors and stages of careers?
  • Challenges of social impact careers: How do you identify a role that will sustain you professionally and financially? How do you navigate the nonprofit industrial complex and mission-drift?
  • The critical professional skills no one teaches: How do you communicate effectively with your manager? How do you project manage efficiently? How do you advocate for yourself even before you start a job?
  • Professional sustainability: How do you avoid burnout? How do you continue to invest in community and mentorship?
  • Job search support: What makes the social impact job search different from more traditional industries? How do you position your previous experiences to stand out? How do you network authentically?

We're looking for candidates who:
  • Someone who is a grad student, undergrad, or young professional
  • Someone who has demonstrated a commitment to their community and social justice, whether it's in the classroom, your personal life, past work experiences, or anything in between.
  • Someone who is available to work between 10-20 hours per week
  • Someone who cares deeply about supporting their peers and building relationships with other mission-driven people

We anticipate all positions being remote!
