Fall 2022 Intern - Event Planner (Austin Office)

As an ALSAC intern, you will learn from experts who have helped us become one of America’s top healthcare charities while supporting the life-saving mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.     
  
Our fall program offers a 10 week fully immersed experience. You will be assigned a day to day manager in your industry and our program manager will lead you with networking and professional development events.   

  • Start Date: September 23, 2022    
  • End Date: December 9, 2022    
  • Hours: 20 hours a week (Monday-Friday)   
  • Pay Rate: All ALSAC interns are paid. Pay rate is based on work location.    
  • Work Location: Austin Office
Requirements: 

  • A passion for our mission!    
  • Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university and in good standing.   
  • Must be comfortable with Zoom and Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Power Point.   
  • Ability to work in a team environment but also work strong independently.    
  • Ability to be organized and detailed to balance several projects simultaneously.   
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.   
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.  
  
Specific Internship Description and Preferred Skills:
The Austin office focuses on securing, cultivating, and stewarding corporate partnerships, individual donors and high value volunteers throughout the market to maximize funds raised for ALSAC, while increasing the support and awareness for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Conducts signature high-revenue special events for general and multicultural markets throughout the area to increase engagement and affinity to the mission of St. Jude.  

  • Support of staff with major Dinner/Gala Event.  Includes assistance in planning and implementation of event logistics, revenue generators (ie: auctions), volunteer recruitment, marketing and communications.   
  • Support of Austin St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer.  Includes assistance in planning and implementation of onsite logistics, marketing, and participant recruitment. 
  • Other projects as assigned, based on availability, could include office administration, digital content, volunteer operations, presentation creation and database support.  
Majors preferred: Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration, Nonprofit, Communications, and any other related major  
Skills preferred: Social Media (Facebook and Instagram) Microsoft Suite, Marketing, Communications, Collaborative, Creative, Leadership
