2023 Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries Summer Analyst Program

The Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries (MMBSI) group at J.P. Morgan focuses on companies with annual revenue of $20 million to $500 million, as well as municipalities, and not-for-profit entities requiring both traditional banking services (lending and cash management), as well as investment banking products (including debt and equity capital markets, risk management derivatives, and corporate finance advisory). With more than 100 locations nation-wide, our local delivery model, coupled with the firm’s global resources, allows us to provide clients with customized, comprehensive solutions and exceptional service.
We want to introduce you to the many areas of direct client work across banking, treasury, and underwriting with client-facing work, as well as extensions of these functions through strategic project work and more. Our goal is to provide a robust, well-rounded experience for you to launch your career in the financial services industry! We will provide everything you need to be successful – from training and mentorship, to senior leader engagements, to projects that engage your current skills and help develop them further.
Working here means joining a collaborative, supportive team. We want your diverse perspective to help us develop the next wave of products and solutions for our clients.
How we’re organized:
There are two program tracks to choose from within MMBSI. Additional details are below.

  1. Our diversified experience, which exposes you to a variety of teams and functions across the broader MMBSI business
  2. Our focused program experience in our Credit Markets lines of business, which streamlines your exposure to three dynamic teams
Our diversified industries experience is organized into five regional groups (Northeast, Midwest, Southwest, Southeast and Pacific) and a variety of industry segments, including, but not limited to, Agribusiness, Life Sciences, Government, Healthcare, Higher Education, Not-for-profit, and Technology and Disruptive Commerce. You may be interested in this experience if you’re looking for broad exposure to key functions and teams across MMBSI.
Credit Markets lines of business include Asset Based Lending, Financial Sponsors Group, and Syndicated Finance teams. These teams support companies with specific types of financial needs such as modeling and pricing, cash flow or collateral analysis, mergers and acquisitions, and more. You may be interested in this experience if you would like to focus on specific types of complex financing and analytics.
In both tracks, Summer Analysts supporting our regional groups will work with MMBSI Bankers, Underwriters, Treasury Officers and Product Partners who cover a variety of industries to provide a range of financing solutions and strategic advisory.
What to expect:
Our Summer Analyst Program will provide you with an introduction to client management, credit structuring, and cash management allowing you to develop the necessary skillset to become a successful Full-Time Analyst.
