Job Description

The Margin and Securities-Backed Finance (MSBF) Credit Risk Management team seeks for a Credit Risk Analyst for the North America (NAM) MSBF portfolios oversight. The team resides in the CRO (Chief Risk Officer)’s organization within the Citigroup’s North America US Personal Banking (USPB) business.
The Margin Lending/MSBF Credit Risk Management team is an In-Business (1LoD) control function with strong focus on risk acceptance and responsible for credit review, credit approval, risk policies, product programs oversight, portfolio management and risk capital review. MSBF Credit Risk Management team is responsible for driving and executing key Risk Management initiatives that span across several disciplines as credit, market, and operational risks. Other responsibilities include collateral management, analytics, stress testing, portfolio reporting and overall risk related strategic projects.
  
Responsibilities:
This role reports to the MSBF Credit Portfolio Group Senior VP. The Credit Risk Analyst is a trainee professional role responsible for conducting collateral evaluations, Third-Party Collateral Holder (TPCH) portfolio monitoring, escalation of collection activities, escalation of margin calls activities and track them until resolution, and process existing MSBF loan servicing activities in coordination with the MSBF Credit Risk Management team.
Specific roles and responsibilities include:

  • Be responsible for working as part of a team responsible for measuring, monitoring and controlling Risk (primarily contingent market, counter-party and liquidity risk) associated to Margin and Securities-Backed Finance (MSBF) loans.
  • Perform collateral evaluation covering Marketable Securities and other asset classes. As well as performing collateral market risk analysis (Stress Testing).
  • Main point of contact for Third-Party Collateral Holder loans modification requests.
  • Escalation of under margin activities (shortfalls, margin calls, sell-outs, clean sell-outs). Provide support defining resolution action plan.  
  • Liaises with the Sales Officers, Loan Operations and Collateral Management Unit or Legal for Collection activities.
  • Utilize risk management tools for the measurement, monitoring and management of clients’ exposure. Perform standard daily and weekly analysis as well as customized risk analysis.
  • Review and execute control assessments for unit related processes, risks, and analytics.
  • Assist in Portfolio Management activities. Communicate results of Third-Party Collateral Holder portfolio risk and margin analysis to senior management.
  • Partner effectively with other product specialty teams and cross-functional teams.
  • Support portfolio on-going monitoring to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, Citi’s policies, Product Program and USPB MSBF Business Credit Policy and Procedure (BCP&P).
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.


Qualifications: 

  • Experience in credit risk management, or equivalent training preferred.
  • Knowledge of margin lending and investment products preferred.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and effectively prioritize assigned tasks.
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and advanced look).  Skilled user of PowerPoint, SharePoint and Adobe Standard. 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
