Special Education Teacher (Transitions Program)

Greenfield Public Schools is seeking a special education teacher to work in a therapeutic special education classroom at Greenfield Middle School serving students in grades eight through twelve. The special education teacher will provide instruction for students for students in a special education classroom including the implementation of behavior programming and support to prepare students to participate in general education classes when ready. The special education teacher will work with other teachers, counselors, and paraprofessionals to assist the students in making effective progress.

DUTIES:

- Implements instruction and support in a specialized program for students with social-emotional and behavior needs

- Provides special education instruction in content areas and according to students’ individualized education programs.

- Assesses and reports on student performance 

- Works collaboratively with clinical and behavior services providers regarding behavior plan development and implementation

- Supervises assigned paraprofessionals 

- Serves as special education liaison for a small caseload of students in the program with responsibility for chairing IEP team meetings and preparing IEP-related documents

- Works effectively with a team of teachers, administrators, related service providers, and parents

- Other duties as assigned

SALARY:Per the Greenfield Education Association Master Contract salary schedule
