Special Education Teacher: Moderate to Severe Disabilities
Greenfield School District is seeking a special educator to work with students who have moderate to severe disabilities, most with inclusion programs. Candidates should have experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder and/or students who are non-verbal and use augmentative and alternative communication.
DUTIES:
- Provide special education instruction to students with moderate to severe disabilities, some who may be non-verbal, and support their inclusion in elementary classrooms and school activities
- Assess and report on student performance, and document student progress including academic and other relevant goals
- Supervisor or consult with paraprofessionals to ensure the implementation of lesson modifications, accommodations, and behavior plans
- Collaborate with teachers, service providers, administrators, and parents.
- Write IEPs and progress reports, and manage all aspects of special education compliance for assigned student caseload
- Conduct educational evaluations as needed
- Other duties as assigned.
SALARY: Per the GEA Master Agreement Salary Schedule
QUALIFICATIONS:
- MA Teacher Certification – Moderate or Severe Disabilities – (Grades K-4)
- Experience with students who have autism spectrum disorder or other disabilities that require curricular modifications.
