Solid Waste Manager (Manager II)
The City of Portland’s Bureau of Planning and Sustainability (BPS) is seeking a Solid Waste Manager, a key position at BPS and for the city. This position leads the City of Portland’s waste portfolio and staff including oversight of Portland commercial and residential waste collections, the public trash can program, waste reduction, reuse and prevention policies and education and outreach related to these programs. This is a high functioning team, who are dedicated to delivering quality, equitable service to the community. The team is friendly, hardworking, supportive of one another, and has a good sense of humor. The Solid Waste Manager will advance waste related programming to ensure the City of Portland maintains world class garbage, recycling, and compost collection services while applying a racial equity lens. Portland is looking for a Solid Waste Manager who can effectively implement this work in collaboration with other city bureaus, governments, and essential stakeholders.
