GBCI Market Development Intern

Description
Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI) is the premier certification body responsible for global delivery and quality oversight of green building and green business sustainability standards. Its integrated team of green building specialists administers credentials and certifications for the U.S. Green Building Council (LEED), the International WELL Building Institute (WELL Building Standard), International Finance Corporation (EDGE), PEER, SITES, TRUE Zero Waste, and IREE.

The GBCI Market Development Internship provides an opportunity to experience all aspects of developing and executing a sales strategy for an early-stage sustainability certification product. The intern will learn how to hone a value proposition, identify leads, execute on target outreach, and pitch potential customers. The internship will focus on market development for IREE certification, a rating system that seeks to increase investment in building energy-efficiency. The goal of the internship is to equip the intern with entrepreneurial selling skills and an understanding of what makes selling a sustainability rating system unique. The intern will also learn about the market for building energy-efficiency projects. Throughout the internship, the intern will be provided access to USGBC’s library of educational resources and encouraged to explore other GBCI rating systems.
