Salary: Commensurate with experience, $45-55k

Overview of Suit Up
 
Founded in 2014, SuitUp is a 501c3 non-profit organization that increases college and career awareness with students from underserved communities. SuitUp organizes virtual and in-person student business competitions for corporate volunteers where employees help students solve a problem for a real company, like creating a new product for Nike or solving a community problem through Snapchat. Since inception, SuitUp has hosted over 350 competitions for companies like Goldman Sachs, NBCUniversal, Snap Inc., Louis Vuitton, and many others, organizing events for over 9,000 volunteers and impacting more than 14,000 students.

The Opportunity
 
SuitUp is seeking a Program Coordinator who will facilitate our dynamic business competitions with students and corporate volunteers across the country. This individual will be tasked with supporting logistics and hosting in person events with corporate partners and select youth partners.

Our Program Team hosts are dynamic, organized, result-oriented, driven individuals that love “playing to a crowd” and can inspire both volunteers and students to have amazing experiences with SuitUp’s entrepreneurship competitions. This role would report directly to SuitUp’s Program Manager.

Key Accountabilities
 
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
 
  • Preparing competition materials and coordinating event logistics with schools and companies 
  • Leading and facilitating competitions in school, company, or virtual settings (60-100 people events) 
  • Collecting and analyzing all survey data from events and creating company impact reports
  • Identifying key volunteers that can help support SuitUp growth and expansion 
  • Attending weekly company-wide and team meetings
  • Assisting SuitUp in its fundraising efforts by attending after work events approximately 5-10 times a year (i.e. happy hours, Push Up for SuitUp, and Suit Up for SuitUp) 
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to lift or move up to 30 pounds (SuitUp competition materials) 
  • The employee frequently is required to stand, climb stairs, and move throughout buildings for up to 5 hours  
  • Ability to travel by air, train, or car domestically (do not need a car to apply). 10-20% of competitions may be outside of the New York area.
  • Taking on tasks outside of job description to support SuitUp in its growth and for the good of the organization

Required Skills
 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with corporate volunteers (ages 21 to 65) and middle/high school students (ages 12 to 18) in a client-facing role
  • Excellent public speaking, communication and presentation skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to take initiatives and run with tasks independently
  • Organized, energetic and positive with natural leadership qualities
  • A passion for education and increasing career awareness for students in underserved, under resourced communities
  • Demonstrates an inspirational attitude that contributes to a positive team environment
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Skilled at multitasking and meeting multiple deadlines concurrently
  • Solution-orientation and ability to problem-solve 
  • Excellent skills in operating computers and various software packages including comfortability with virtual platforms (i.e. Zoom, Bevy, Google Suite, etc.)

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) a plus
 
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 0-1 year of work experience with schools/youth; 1+ years experience in the fields of education, nonprofit, youth development, social work, sales, event planning or business administration a plus
  • Comply with SuitUp COVID-19 Vaccination Policy (where applicable)
