Program Manager - Transforming Justice Hub

Interested in working for a non-profit organization rooted in a tradition of care and compassion? Join our team! CORA is a fast-paced, growing organization with over 500 team members and growing with a lucrative benefits package to offer. Our team has been helping children and families experiencing emotional, academic, and social challenges which impede their development and productivity throughout Philadelphia for the past 50 years and we have continued to put our community first.

CORA Services is a non-profit agency whose mission is to assist youth, children, and families experiencing emotional, academic, and social challenges which impede their development and productivity. CORA provides this assistance throughout the greater Philadelphia area. "Children are the Heart of the Matter"

The Restorative Justice department of CORA Services is launching the Transforming Justice Hub: a two-tiered project that seeks to empower Philadelphian youth who have been both impacted by and involved in neighborhood gun violence to interrupt cycles of conflict, and the systems of oppression that cause them, through community organizing and community dialogue.

In service of this mission, The Hub will host a recurring six-month Popular Education course that trains youth, in neighborhoods most familiar with the conditions of gun violence, to become certified circle keepers, peer mediators, and community organizers. The course comprises 40 hours of facilitation training, 10 hours of political education, and 6 hours of hands-on practice leading restorative justice models. The second component of this project is providing restorative justice services, from de-escalation to healing circles, to our overall community by partnering with the youth apprentices to facilitate these practices in their respective neighborhoods.

This project was designed with the understanding that gun violence, and other forms of interpersonal violence, is a symptom of the material conditions that marginalized communities are subjected to, and that "those closest to the problem are closest to the solution". We seek staff who share this analysis and can engage those at the epicenter of our gun violence epidemic to be leaders in this movement.
The Project Manager will run a 6-month recurring Restorative Justice program. The Project Manager will design and facilitate the program, and oversee the referral process. This position is also responsible for supervising the Youth Services Coordinator.

Qualified Candidates should possess the following:

  • BA degree in a field related to Restorative Justice preferred
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a trained Restorative Justice Mediator
  • At least 3 years' experience teaching youth
