CareerSource TANF Workshop/Assessment Facilitator

SALARY:     $40,853.49 - $61,478.56 Annually

Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or social services; or any equivalent combination of related training and experience. A valid Florida Driver License is required and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets the requirements of Alachua County policy # 6-7; Motor Vehicle Records will be reviewed prior to employment. If in the past 24-month period, the record shows more than 3 moving traffic violations, and/or a conviction/pending charge for driving under the influence, the minimum qualifications are not met for the position.
Complete Tier One Training and pass the Tier One Certificate Exam within six (6) months of being hired. Successful completion of criminal history background investigation is required prior to employment. Applicants within six months of meeting the minimum education/experience requirement may be considered for trainee status.
 Position Summary: This is professional work in the developing, coordinating, and delivering of workshops and assessments to job seekers in the Economic Development Division of the Alachua County Community and Administrative Services Department. 
 
The employee assigned to this classification utilizes knowledge of specified training needs and effective professional classroom methods to teach Workforce workshops; and enters workshop services in the Management Information System (MIS).
 
Work is performed under the direction of a higher level supervisor and is reviewed through conferences, reports, and observation of results obtained.
 Examples of Duties: Upon declaration of a disaster and/or emergency, employees in this classification may be required to report to work.
 
Exudes a positive customer service focus.
 
Advocates building organizational culture through aligning decisions with core values including: integrity, honesty, respect, diversity, innovation, accountability and communication. 
 
Teaches workshops to job seekers using relevant training materials and a variety of media to address the individual needs of learners.
 
Provides specialized assessments to participants, such as Test for Adult Basic Education (TABE) and CareerScope.
 
Selects and develops teaching aides, such as training handbooks, demonstrations models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works.
 
Updates and revises course content and teaches methodology to adhere to Center-wide goals.
 
Consults with management to determine training needs based on regulations and rules of Workforce Service programs.
 
Prioritizes and maintains effective work relationships with peers and partners; takes initiative to assist team members when needed to enhance service delivery.
 
Maintains accurate records, including training schedules and attendance.
 
Organizes training venues, logistics, and accommodations.
 
Oversees classroom to ensure the environment is calm and professional to assist Career Navigators in referring customers to other agencies for supportive services.
 
Maintains processes to measure outcomes and customer satisfaction and utilize the information to make recommendations on continuous improvement opportunities.
 
Facilitates, publicizes, and produces training materials and topics.
 
Acquires, maintains, and demonstrates ongoing programmatic competency.
 
Contributes to improving services by serving on work groups and managing special projects.
 
Provides job search support in areas of resume writing, job referrals, and application assistance.
 
Conducts staff development training for the team on a variety of job search/job retention topics.
 
Works retail hours and/or hours as assigned. 

Drives a personal vehicle regularly to perform duties as required.
