Associate Director of Strategic Information

For more than 150 years, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) has been a leader in educating the world’s most influential artists, designers and scholars. Reporting to the Executive Director of Strategic Information and Prospect Development, the Associate Director of Strategic Information coordinates and fulfills production requests for Advancement Operations as assigned, including data requests, data imports, reports, and other requests. 
The Associate Director of Strategic Information works with The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) Advancement, and other departments in SAIC, to collect information about requests submitted by email, phone and in person to ensure the data and reports provided are accurate and meet the needs of the requestor.
The Associate Director of Strategic Information is also responsible for assisting with the administration of applications including The Raiser’s Edge, PaperSave, and other related systems.
 Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design data structures and maintain integrity in the Raiser’s Edge database and other systems.
  • Contribute to data integrity through auditing, validating, programmatic hygiene projects, assisting users with requested imports, and identifying patterns of errors to be addressed.
  • Develop data dashboards to report of fund raising progress and other fundraising metrics
  • Create and maintain trainings for Office of Advancement and SAIC staff.
  • Create, update and disseminate a group of various scheduled reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to data clean up, data input and other general office work.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university in information management or computer science, or comparable experience required.
  • 3-5 years of experience using The Raiser's Edge or other CRM systems.
  • Dashboard creation experience using Tableau and/or Microsoft Power BI is preferred.
  • Experience in a service oriented role and environment.
  • Knowledge of business systems and software applications required.
  • Understanding of relational database systems required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel required.
  • Discretion with confidential information required.
  • Ability to work independently in a deadline-oriented, fast-paced environment required.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy required.
