Job Description:
The Clinical Placement Administrator is responsible for facilitating a positive clinical experience for Curry College School of Nursing students in the undergraduate, graduate and certificate nursing programs while ensuring students successfully meet clinical requirements and compliance. Additionally, working in collaboration with the Director of Nursing Clinical Education, the Clinical Placement Administrator is responsible for assisting in cultivating and maintaining relationships between Curry College School of Nursing students, clinical sites, and healthcare agency staff to advance clinical education among the undergraduate, graduate, and certificate nursing programs.

Essential Functions:

1. Coordination of Clinical Placements and Sites:
  • Coordinate the identification, development, implementation and evaluation of clinical placement sites and placement policies;
  • Maintain communication with Dean, Associate Dean, Chair of School of Nursing, MSN Director, Program Coordinators, Faculty Clinical Coordinators and Director of Nursing Clinical Education regarding clinical site preferences, availability and experiential practice needs of nursing students;
  • Assist in the development of clinical placement technology platform tools related to clinical education and clinical placements;
  • Maintain database with all required clinical agency documentation for student groups and preceptor placements;
  • Collaborate with Chair, Director of Nursing Clinical Education and Faculty Clinical Coordinators to coordinate appropriate clinical site placements for students across the curricula for all programs;
  • Prepare quarterly evaluation summary of clinical agencies and preceptors;
  • Attend internal clinical coordination meetings as appropriate and agency meetings for clinical placement administrators;
  • Correspond with clinical agencies regarding the list of student assigned to each site and provides attestation/agency required documentation for clinical assignments across programs;
  • Provide conflict resolution in situations where there are discrepancies between the goals/objectives of the clinical placement site and the School of Nursing;
  • Assist in the gathering and maintenance of outcome data for state and national report submission;
  • Provide oversight of clinical placement data-bases including centralized clinical placement (CCP) and/or other online credentialing systems;
  • Responsible for submission of all requests for all programs with adherence to CCP deadlines;
  • Maintain compliance with the Massachusetts Centralized Clinical Placement database for Curry College School of Nursing;
  • Distribute all clinical requirements for placements, preceptorships and practicums across all programs to individual students;
  • Update clinical requirements as posted by all agencies in CCP and those not in CCP;
  •  Maintain and track clinical student compliance throughout all programs with regard to agency requirements to ensure deadlines set by agencies for submission are met;
  • Track student compliance throughout all programs while maintaining records of all immunizations that are in alignment with protocols as they are updated by each agency;
  • Notify students and Faculty Clinical Coordinators when students are out of compliance regarding immunizations or completion of clinical agency onboarding material;
  • Complete all spreadsheets and collect all documentation to submit to agencies;
  • Maintain contact with agency liaisons to ensure connections with getting clinical accounts set up for students;
  • Answer student inquiries related to clinical onboarding requirements and immunizations;
  • Maintain communication and administration over electronic database for clinical compliance tracking (ie. Complio);
  • Maintain records and work with the Division of Continuing Education and Graduate Studies office to distribute tuition vouchers to clinical affiliate agencies as appropriate.

2. Faculty Support:
  • Provide a visible and accessible point of contact for faculty, preceptors and clinical agencies;
  • Interact as the intermediary between faculty and clinical agency placement staff to establish and maintain rapport and to communicate program related information;
  • Serve as a liaison between clinical agencies and School of Nursing faculty/administration;
  • Assist with the implementation of course, preceptor and agency evaluation processes;
  • Establish quality improvement measures to ensure positive clinical experience outcomes for students in collaboration with faculty and faculty clinical coordinators.

Additional Functions:
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality, parameters of operation, professional protocols, and individual privacy;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the School of Nursing Chair, Associate Dean, and Dean.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. 
  • A minimum of three years' office administration experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively deal with a variety of individuals. Must be able to work collaboratively with faculty and students. 
  • Proficiency with computing skills and efficiency utilizing complex computing applications on the systems and programs of College's choice; currently by way of example, Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to follow-up, follow-through, set priorities and adhere to deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of the greater Boston health care community preferred (familiar with the area's nursing facilities and contacts in the field).
  • Experience working in an academic environment or with nursing students.
