Toyota Financial Services Field Leadership Development Program

Who we’re looking for: 
Our Field Sales Organization is looking for energetic, highly motivated and driven recent college graduates or graduating seniors that have an interest in sales for our Field Leadership Development Program (FLDP). This is a co-hort style program starting mid-July 2023. We’re looking for individuals who are mobile and willing to take on geographically diverse assignments across the United States. 

What you’ll be doing: 
FLDP is designed to provide a combination of on-the-job experience, class-room training, networking, and mentorship, which are critical components for personal and professional growth. As part of FLDP, you will spend approximately 22-24 months at one of our three Dealer Service Centers (DSCs), gaining relevant work experience with a globally respected company. Our DSCs are located in the following areas: West DSC (Chandler, AZ); Central DSC (Plano, TX); East DSC (Alpharetta, GA) 
During your first 12 months in the program, you will rotate through the following areas of TFS: 
  • Credit – FLDPs will be responsible for analyzing and making credit decisions on retail and lease credit application offerings received from automotive dealerships within established guidelines, while providing the highest level of service to our dealers. 
  • Dealer Funding – FLDPs will gain firsthand knowledge of contract funding as they shadow Contract Specialists. FLDPs will follow a learning plan that includes instructor-led training, eLearnings, job shadowing and the observe all functions involved in dealer funding.   
  • Dealer Lending – FLDPs will learn through observation how to review dealership accounts. This will also include the preparation and monitoring of dealer credit packages for new credit line requests and/or renewals. They will also observe the wholesale auditing process and various reporting and analysis. 
  • Dealer/Field Sales Support – FLDPs will be exposed to TFS Field Sales and Dealer Support following a learning plan used by TFS Areas Sales Managers and by Dealer Support Analysts as they observe and learn the functions of the roles. FLDPs will also observe field salespeople as they interact with all departments within Toyota and Lexus dealerships. 

Throughout these key rotations, participants will also gain exposure across the TFS organization by visiting, virtually or on-site, and shadowing various departments at Headquarters and in our Customer Assistance and Lease Experience departments and across the field sales organization, including dealerships. also observe field salespeople as they interact with all departments within Toyota and Lexus dealerships. Upon successful completion of the program, you will be placed in a Credit Analyst position at one of the DSCs with the expectation that you will remain in the role for a minimum of 10-12 months.   

What you bring: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or other relevant disciplines with a GPA of 2.7 or higher 
  • Sales Aptitude: competitive nature, ability to build and nurture relationships 
  • Interpersonal Skills: Outgoing personality, ambitious, high energy, team player, positive attitude 
  • Leadership Potential: Exhibit strong propensity for leadership (demonstrated via extracurricular activities and/or work experience)  
  • Organized: Efficient organizational and multi-tasking skills 
  • Adaptable: Ability to adapt and prioritize with changing, fast-paced situations
