Accounting Internship

Lilling & Company LLP is a boutique accounting firm focusing on auditing Employee Benefit Plans, Investment Entities, Broker-Dealers, Not-for-Profits, and commercial entities. Lilling conducts the most peer reviews (approximately 25%) in New York.
We are looking for an Accounting Intern to help with general office functions and support both the tax and audit departments.
We are looking for someone who is smart, has a strong accounting education and excellent computer (Excel, Word, etc.) skills. You will get exposure to several areas of an accounting firm. We are looking for someone who can take on increasing responsibility and wants to advance their career.
Job Responsibilities
  • Support tax department to organize tax documents received from clients, creating mail merges, and organize tax projects in our software.
  • Support audit department in vouching invoices, tracing invoices to bank statements, preparing schedules, generating SOC-1 templates, updating planning documents and audit programs.
  • Work with Partners to update management software.
  • General office functions including answering phones, scheduling deliveries, making appointments, shredding, etc.
  • Have exposure to senior associates, managers, senior managers and partners.
 Required
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a client focus
  • Highly detail-orientated, organized and proactive
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
