Research Associate II, Immunology

Vir Biotechnology is seeking a highly talented and motivated individual to join our Immunology team to tackle challenges spanning discovery research, pre-clinical development, and support to clinical trial programs. The successful candidate will work closely with internal resources and external consultants to participate in discovery immunology research efforts aimed at identifying and characterizing novel therapeutic agents.

Responsibilities And Learning Opportunities
  • Work under supervision of scientists to conduct scientific research using cutting-edge immunologic assays
  • Responsible for the optimization, execution, and analysis in vitro immunologic assays
  • Document day-to-day activities, keeping accurate records of experimental details and results related to assigned projects
  • Maintain a high level of scientific integrity and laboratory safety.
  • Assist in ordering supplies, making reagents and maintaining the laboratory to conduct necessary activities.
  • Maintain project timelines and actively participate in team meetings.
  • Actively seeks opportunities to continuously improve and learn.


Qualifications And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or related field with 2+ year experience in a biotech, medical laboratory, or academic setting.
  • Laboratory experience in immunological assays such as cytokine measurement by ELISA, immune cell monitoring by flow cytometry, etc.
  • Prior experience in immunotherapies or T cell biology would be advantageous.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to work independently and manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Exceptional planning, organization, and time management skills.
  • Professional interpersonal skills, excellent oral/written communication skills.
