Air Pollution Emissions Data Specialist - State Prog Admin Intermediate - Job ID 58207

Job Summary
This position exists to conduct professional statistical and data analysis work in the area of air pollution emissions from nonpoint sources. Under limited supervision and procedural control, the person in this position conducts studies, forecasts trends, and provides technical advice and assistance to co-workers by determining methodologies, monitoring Volkswagen Settlement program data and outcomes, and making final recommendations for evaluations and studies related to statewide air quality improvement.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a field of study related to environmental, air emissions, air quality or scientific area and one year of professional experience in data analysis support for air pollution emissions programs or the pollution prevention industry, such as: assessing data for trends, calculating emission reductions, compiling input and providing analysis from surveys.

OR

Two years of professional experience in data analysis support for air pollution emissions programs or the pollution prevention industry, such as: assessing data for trends, calculating emission reductions, compiling input and providing analysis from surveys.

AND

Project management experience in order to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Experience conducting effective collaboration and communication with multiple partners and stakeholders.

Experience with public speaking and presentation skills with good problem solving, planning, organizational, and computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Expertise in a wide variety of data science (data collection, management, analysis, processing, evaluation, visualization etc.) software such as GIS software, Tableau,SQLDeveloper, MS Access, Python, R or other statistical analysis software.

Well organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to build partnerships and obtain cooperation from staff.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite with good editing, spreadsheet and database skills.

Familiar with Statewide Integrated Financial Tools (SWIFT) and Tempo database.

Additional Requirements
Position duties may require travel but driving is not a minimum qualification or essential function of this position. Employees who may drive for state business will need their driver’s
license checked prior to operating a state vehicle.
