Associate - Enterprise Risk Assessment

This incumbent will assist managing the enterprise risk assessment process to ensure effectiveness, performing second line of defense for Strategic and Reputation Risk management, and supporting other initiatives in the ERA team, including but not limited to control testing, ESG and regulatory findings remediation

Job Duties
Include but are not limited to:
 
Enterprise Risk Assessment
·       Manage the bank-wide Enterprise Risk Assessment (ERA) process covering all risk stripes and all lines of business to ensure effectiveness
·       Evaluate the effectiveness of the ERA process including aggregation methodology and data analysis, and support the process/methodology enhancements engaging stakeholders across the bank
·       Support relevant reporting activities covering a variety of audience, including regulators, executive committees and senior management
·       Support the update of the relevant governance documents, including the enterprise risk assessment procedure

Regulatory Findings Remediation
·       Participate in regulatory findings remediation bank-wide project plan and provide support to the end-to-end remediation process from executing relevant action items, project management and bank-wide coordination
·       Develop and maintain the relationship with key stakeholders across relevant business and risk functions to support the relevant remediation initiatives

Control Testing Initiative
·       Participate in bank-wide control testing initiative and drive multiple action items in the strategic and reputation risk areas, including establishing/enhancing control inventory, defining testing methodology and relevant reporting requirements
·       Provide guidance to front line units (FLU) to enhance the control testing practice and perform independent review on FLU’s control testing results

ESG
·       Learn about the ESG related regulatory guidance and requirements and develop relevant action plans to drive bank-wide ESG risk/climate risk initiative
·       Work with key stakeholders across relevant business and risk functions to execute relevant action plans and enhance the ESG/climate risk management practice at the bank
·       Support the executive reports, regulator presentations and bank-wide communications related to ESG/climate risk

Strategic & Reputation Risk Management
·       Perform as the second line of defense for Strategic and Reputation Risk, collaborate with all relevant stakeholders in identifying, monitoring and controlling strategic and Reputation risk
·       Support the update of the relevant governance documents, including the strategic and Reputation risk policy/procedure
·       Design and conduct strategic and Reputation risk related trainings
·       Identify improvement areas of strategic and Reputation risk management framework and drive relevant initiatives in different projects across the Bank

Job requirements
·       At least 1 year of experience in risk management preferably within Financial services
·       Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s degree is preferred
·       Sound understanding of risk management practices in the banking industry is required
·       Exceptional communication, multi-tasking, analytical, problem solving and time management skills is required
·       FRM and/or CFA certifications are preferred
