Hunt Seat Coach

Description

Albion College invites applications for the Hunt Seat Instructor/Varsity Coach position. We are especially interested in candidates who will contribute to a campus climate that supports equity, diversity, and belonging. Responsible for developing and overseeing the hunt seat riding program including teaching lessons, coaching an intercollegiate team, maintaining an appropriate size herd of hunt/dressage horses, and the training and conditioning of horses. In addition, this position will work closely with Admission in recruiting prospective students. This position will assist in the daily operations of the stables and events hosted at the Held Equestrian Center including the recruitment of students. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload with sensitivity and confidentiality. Albion College is an anti-racist institution. Position Duration: 12 months per year


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, or ability to obtain a Bachelor's degree within first two years of employment
  • Significant experience in United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA) and USEF competitions required
  • Experience in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) preferred
  • Significant experience in multi-discipline riding as well as horse care required 
  • Must have a valid, or be eligible to obtain, a Michigan driver’s license and clearing initial and periodic driving record checks; position may require obtaining a CDL
