Epidemiologist III - Limited Service

Want to make a difference in the lives of Vermonters? The Vermont Department of Health has an exciting opportunity for you to improve population health. The St. Johnsbury Local Health Office is seeking enthusiastic public health professionals with experience in epidemiology to join our district office team.
 
The District Epi will: 
•   Conduct surveillance and investigation of reportable infectious diseases with a priority on COVID-19.
•   Serve as the District COVID-19 subject matter expert for current health department and CDC guidance on case investigation, contact tracing, and outbreak prevention.
•   Investigate instances of COVID-19 exposures within facilities, worksites, schools, and childcares and provide appropriate mitigation recommendations
•   Provide support to health care providers and community partners in infectious disease surveillance, prevention, and control. 
•   Analyze and interpret disease District-level surveillance data and create reports.

Duties are performed under the supervision of the district office leadership and supported by the Vermont Department of Health Infectious Disease/Epidemiology Unit.


Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in epidemiology or public health.
OR
Master's degree with at least 6 graduate credits in epidemiology.
OR
Bachelor's degree with at least 12 college credits in epidemiology or statistics AND 2 years of experience.
