Overview

The Technical Operations Manager will oversee performance and efficiencies within the Institute. The Manager of Technical Operations is responsible for delivery and compliance of a broad spectrum of services encompassing the conduct and support of non-clinical studies. They work to analyze the organizational process and will find ways to enhance overall work quality and productivity through cross-functional process improvement and execution of short and long term organizational growth goals. The role is responsible for driving process improvement initiatives while being a liaison between all institutional supporting groups associated with the process (Facilities, Environmental Health and Safety, Test Article Management, validations & calibrations, Project Management, etc.). Proactive process improvements, attention to detail, organization and communication are key to this position. This position will participate in regulatory inspections and audits either independently or under oversight of Senior Management.
 

Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree and a minimum of 10 years of experience in contract research with a record of personnel or laboratory management including at least 2 years of supervisorial experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained.
 
Must have a thorough understanding of practices, theories, and policies involved in business and scientific practice/study implementation-support.
 
Must have superior professional-level written and verbal communication skills; a high degree of professionalism, diplomacy and discretion; excellent judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills; and strong customer-service skills. Demonstrated ability in managing a wide variety of complex tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting multiple deadlines is required. The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations with solid judgment and discretion is critical, as well as the ability to perform duties independently.
 
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate previous success in developing professional and effective relationships with both administrative and non-administrative managers and colleagues.
 
Requires professional-level general computer skills and the ability to learn other department-specific computer systems as needed. 
 
Relocation may be offered for this position

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

Six Sigma, Lean, or Project Management training is preferred

Salary

Salary is commensurate with experience.
