Housing Placement Specialist

FamilyAid (FA) is Greater Boston’s leading provider of solutions to family homelessness. Its mission is to empower parents and caregivers facing homelessness to secure and sustain housing and build strong foundations for their children’s futures.
The hundred‐plus year‐old agency has launched bold new strategies to reduce two generation homelessness by dramatically increasing its prevention, housing and supportive services for children and parents, putting the organization on a fast‐growth trajectory.
To support these strategies, the agency seeks a dynamic, driven Housing Placement Specialist to lead the agency’s deepening 2‐Gen services to more than 3,000 children and parents. The Housing Placement Specialist provides housing search services to a caseload of homeless families.
The Specialist works collaboratively with each family and their case manager to assess and identify the family’s needs and barriers to safe stable housing. The Specialist conducts housing search with consideration to each’s family’s housing plan, and coordinates placement and moves as quickly as possible. The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree or related experience, 1‐3 years professional social work desired, and demonstrated success in affordable housing search and placement desired. English and Spanish preferred. Ability to work in both office and field‐based settings with a diverse, homeless population. Flexibility and compassion are essential.
