Preschool Teacher

John Winthrop School for Young Children is located in the historic Back Bay of Boston and has served multiple generations of families in the area for 50 years. Our mission is to foster the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of young children. The school consists of a community of learners, including children, teachers, and families, where all are welcome, work together, and are respected. Our dedicated staff employ a whole family approach to supporting learning. We support families through the first years of schooling by conversing about children’s development in a real-world context, celebrating milestones, and supporting the transition to kindergarten and beyond.
We are looking for a Preschool Teacher to join our team. The Preschool Teacher is responsible for classroom management, curriculum design, implementation and documentation, developing and maintaining relationships with families, and working collaboratively with fellow teachers and administration to ensure the continued excellence in early childhood education at John Winthrop School.
The right candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be warm, enthusiastic, and energetic. He or she will also have:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • EEC Preschool Teacher/Lead Teacher-certified
  • A minimum of two years teaching experience in a child care setting
  • Meet MA state background check requirements
  • Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education is a plus
