Summer 2023 Actuarial Intern

Our 2023 Summer Internship Program is a paid 10-week learning experience where you will be immersed in the daily environment of a thriving Fortune 250 global financial services company. You will gain invaluable industry and organizational knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments, in addition to engaging in projects that directly affect our business, interact with senior leaders in conversational settings, and network with employees and interns across our regional offices.

Are you a problem solver who enjoys diving into data, is excited by difficult modeling challenges and possesses good interpersonal skills to effectively interface between technical and business teams? If so, Guardian is seeking actuarial interns to contribute to our business success.
 
You are:
A self-starter who is fueled by collaboration, able to transform conceptual thinking into executable insights who thrives in diving into business problems and using data to make decisions.
 
You have:
  • At least one actuarial exam passed
  • At least one semester of studies remaining in your bachelor’s degree program or higher
  • Solid GPA
  • Aptitude for problem solving as well as technical skills
 
You will:
  • Assist with departmental actuarial tasks, such as pricing or valuation
  • Use Microsoft Excel and other software to perform analysis
  • Present work and results to a broader audience
  • Network with interns across the company to learn about all areas of Guardian
 
 
Location/Vaccination Requirements:
·        The primary location for this position is New York, NY; Bethlehem, PA; or Pittsfield, MA
·        Covid-19 vaccinations are required for this position
 
 Any offer of employment will be contingent upon the candidate’s affirmation of being fully vaccinated prior to commencing employment in the new role. New hires will have five business days from their start date to provide proof of vaccination through our Vaccination Status Confirmation Form. “Fully Vaccinated” means that at least two weeks have elapsed since you received the recommended number of doses of any COVID-19 vaccine that is currently fully approved, or authorized for emergency use, by the Food and Drug Administration or that have been listed for emergency use by the World Health Organization.
If an applicant is unable to be vaccinated due to a medical condition or a sincerely held religious belief, practice or observance, Guardian may provide reasonable accommodations. This policy may not apply to any Guardian colleagues working in a local jurisdiction (state, county, or city) that implements a law prohibiting a private employer from requiring vaccination, unless there is an applicable vaccine mandate from the federal government that would supersede the vaccination laws of the local jurisdiction. Guardian, in its sole discretion, may modify or terminate this requirement at any time.
