DNREC is Now Offering Sign-on Bonuses for Engineers!
The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) recognizes its Engineers are a highly valued resource and play a critical role in protecting public health and the environment. For that reason, we are now providing monetary recruitment incentives to new DNREC Engineers in accordance to our Recruitment Program Policy and Procedures.
The program provides recruitment incentives as follows:
Sign-On Bonus– Incentives are based on the position classification:
  • $2,000 Engineer I
The incumbent would perform analyses and inspections of technical facilities to the Boiler Safety, Accidental Release Prevention, and Emergency Planning Community Right to Know Programs. This position will review technical information of regulated parties, to include Risk Management Plans, storing and analyzing data, ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance, accompanying, and performing inspections with Program staff and assisting with preparation of reports. Additional responsibilities include enforcement actions and other administrative activities as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS for Engineer I
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
 
  1. Possession of a Bachelors degree (or have an anticipated graduation date within 9 months) in Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Environmental, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or official notice of passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Environmental, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES).
