Postdoc research scientist

Two postdoctoral fellow positions are available in the new laboratory of Dr. Liheng Wang, at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City.

Dr. Wang is looking for postdoctoral candidates with strong skill sets in metabolism, biochemistry, cell biology and the enthusiasm to build a highly collaborative, friendly team. The ongoing research in Dr.Wang’s lab focus on the transcription regulation of hepatic glucose and lipid metabolism in the context of type 2 diabetes (T2D), obesity and Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD). Dr. Wang has discovered several new transcription factors that potentially regulate hepatic glucose and lipid metabolism. She will further explore the functions of these transcription factors on the transcriptional regulation of liver metabolism and pathogenesis of diabetes and liver diseases. Her recent publications include Cell Metabolism, Journal of Hepatology, Journal of Clinical Investigation etc (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/myncbi/1jCqszge5p3kN /bibliography/public/). The common technologies used in the lab include transgenic mouse models, human genetics, metabolic studies, next generation sequencing, and a variety of molecular and cell biology techniques. Her group will work collaboratively with other groups in Diabetes, Obesity, and Metabolism Institute (DOMI) at Mount Sinai. For further information, please contact Dr. Wang (liheng.wang@mssm.edu).

To apply: Send by email a cover letter (including an explanation of your motivation), your CV, and the contact information of three references to Dr. Wang (liheng.wang@mssm.edu). Applications will be considered until the position is filled.
