Design Administrator

Position Summary:
Design Admin works under the direction of the Mechanical Design Manager to perform the day-to-day duties of processing technical drawings, specifications, documents, change control, and item creation. This position requires a high level of attention to detail along with the ability to coordinate document releases both internally and externally.
Responsibilities:
  •  Ability to work in a professional team-based office environment and meet date-driven customer-focused commitments
  •  Review and comprehend customer generated specifications and requirements
  •  Maintain departmental design and engineering documentation/processes with technical support from departmental project engineers and designers
  •  Assemble, print, collect, prepare “drawings” for release throughout the organization
  •  Assemble, print, collect, prepare “Bill of Materials” for release throughout the organization
  •  Maintain project folders and departmental files with updated documentation
  • Support the TOP group
  •  Ownership of the item creation process and coordination between design, engineering, quality and purchasing on all items created and released within the ABEC ERP system
  •  Maintain items in the ABEC ERP system
  •  Execute other tasks as assigned
Requirements
 
Qualifications:
Required:
  •  Associate degree in Engineering, Design, or equivalent technical discipline and/or work experience
  •  1-2 years in a related industry using word processing and communications software with direct experience processing technical drawings specifications, documents, ERN/ECN’s, BOM’s, item creation, and other related engineering and design documentation
  •  Hands-on experience with MRP software and related centralized change control support and item validation and creation.
  •  Experience with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat
  • Preferred:
  •  Syteline (MRP Platform)
  • Autodesk (Inventor/Vault/CAD)
