Ministry Financial Analyst - Financial Services Group

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Business Title: Ministry Financial Analyst
Ministry/Team: Financial Services Group 
Reports To: Ministry Finance Team Leader

SUMMARY
Oversee financial analysis, administration, and training for several Campus Crusade for Christ ministries/divisions. 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

FOR THIS ROLE:

Collect and analyzes records and reports of present and past income & expense activity, looking for trends affecting budget needs in order to assist in the creation of an annual budget.

Coordinate with the Executive Leadership and assigned CFO liaison of ministries as needed 

Organize assigned ministry’s financial resources by creating new chart fields, designation numbers, and projects as required.

Guide and direct monthly and annual general ledger closings for the fiscal year.

Serve as each assigned ministry’s point person for internal financial audits, understand spending patterns, and funding needs. As well as monitor ministry(s) financial activity to ensure data integrity.

Utilizes existing reports and creates new financial reports/queries to extract financial data from PeopleSoft as needed.

Create cash flow, donation, and allocation reports and interpret them for executive leadership. 

Ensure automated financial reports are provided to staff and provide training to improve their usefulness

Provide instruction to leaders and administrators to increase proficiency in common financial processes such as check requests, contracts, OneCard, and concur.

Educate staff through frequent, high quality communication, both written and in person as needed. Answers financial questions for staff as needed and champions online training of remote leaders and administrators.  

Complete account transfers (journal uploads), as well as process credit card revenue uploads to Cru – reconciling from TSYS or other credit card processor(s).

Ensure timely payment to vendors by staff and that staff utilize the appropriate Campus Crusade for Christ payment process.

Maintain an accurate inventory of ministry-owned property and communicate annually to Risk Management

Prepare, review, approve and or sign various documents as needed: reimbursements, expense reports, additional salary requests, journal vouchers, journal uploads, funds transfers, operating advances, contracts, and check requests

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Performs other work-related duties and special projects as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY TO: 
Create, analyze and interpret financial statements and reports. Present financial information to a variety of groups. 
Knowledge of accounting procedures and systems.
Ability to use personal computer with Microsoft Office for Windows software, especially Excel, and other office equipment, such as copier, calculator, fax machine and multi-extension telephone.
Some understanding of generally accepted accounting practices.
Ability to perform tasks with extremely close attention to detail.
Ability to maintain accurate records and files.
Ability to maintain positive attitude even during periods of heavy workload and stressful customer interactions.
Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
Ability to train and equip others.
Demonstrate planning and organizational skills at an advanced level 
Become familiar with FSG policy manual, OneCard policy manual, Staff Services Policy Manual, and Operating Reimbursements Manual

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Undergraduate degree from 4-year college or university and four years of experience in accounting or financial analysis or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience using PeopleSoft preferred.
