Epic Games is on the lookout for smart, dynamic interns to join our Finance Technology Team. When you join Epic you'll join a team that's pushing the limits of gaming and interactive. Epic Games FinTech Team is looking for a motivated, creative Financial Data Analyst Intern to join them for Summer 2023. Our Interns are given challenging projects over the work term, and are provided with a meaningful experience to build meaningful contributions while growing your own technical skillset.

On this team, you will contribute to the analysis of Epic and partner product financials at scale. This unique internship will give you the opportunity to work closely with finance, insights, and revenue stakeholders around the company using state of the art analytics tools. You’ll learn and utilize key skills to develop accurate reports on Fortnite, Rocket League, Fall Guys and upcoming titles, to name a few. 

In This Role You Will: 
  • Work directly with:
  • The data scientists, insights analysts, and integration specialists to understand the full financial reporting pipeline at Epic.  
  • Finance stakeholders to build GAP and SOX compliance bookings, entries, and payments for our internationally popular game titles, the Epic Game Store, and a multitude of partner products. 
  • Player analytics to understand engagement (our core metric) and its relation to revenue and conversions
  • A cohort of other interns in our Epic Internship program exposing you to Epic location tours, lunch & learns, and other social/networking activities
  • Focus On: 
  • Our global revenue reporting platform, unifying the Epic product ecosystem with partner products sold across Microsoft, Playstation, Nintendo, and PC storefronts
  • Assist with:
  • Our financial ERP system to diagnose and report revenue and liabilities for all Epic entities
  • Ecommerce data warehouse and transactional level reporting
  • Finance and FinTech team KPIs
  • Learn
  • State of the art analytics and statistical best practices
  • Universal data query and reporting tools including; Hive, SQL, Tableau, Snowflake, and Workday
  • Business acumen and internal customer service as you begin to own and deliver your own reports

What We’re Looking For:
  • Recommended qualifications:
  • Master’s or Bachelor's degree holders or pursuers with a focus in finance, computer science, or mathematics 
  • Self starters with the ability to build and follow a regimented learning plan with limited guidance
  • Familiarity with visualization methods and sharing data effectively
  • Strong project management and communication skills that can translate broad asks into tangible KPIs and metrics
  • Detail oriented personalities with the ability to think through complex data issues with multidimensionality 
  • Familiarity with relational data tables and manipulation whether it be in Microsoft Excel, SQL, or other tools
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and G-Suite 
  • Nice to have qualifications:
  • 1+ years experience with SQL, Python, and/or R
  • Work or internship experience in the analytics field
  • Visualization tools like Tableau, PowerBI, or Google Data Studio
