Data Analyst Internship

Reports to: Director of Finance and Accounting
Location: Beverly, MA
Type: 20 hours per week/part-time
Job Description Build Health International (BHI) is looking for a bright, motivated, and driven Data Analyst intern to join our international team for the Fall 2022 term with the potential for a contract extension.BHI is a unique nonprofit organization working in low-resource settings to develop infrastructure solutions that elevate the quality and accessibility of healthcare worldwide. BHI designs build, maintains, and provides clinical and operational consulting for healthcare facilities in low and middle-income countries. BHI has worked in over 28 countries and is dedicated to partnering with local ministries of health and NGOs that provide high-quality, accessible treatment to the most vulnerable populations. Grounded in commitments to sustainability, health equity, and local capacity building, BHI is focused on creating real, tangible impact that will last for years to come.
To support our expanding portfolio of design-build projects, we are seeking an ambitious and passionate Intern to undertake data analysis and reporting. In the role, the candidate will support and collaborate closely with BHI’s Accounting and Fundraising departments to oversee more than 133 current projects around the world.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist with financial modeling
  2. Provide financial reporting support to Finance
  3. Provide support for the project budgeting process, tracking, and analysis
  4. Assist with statistical analysis and other special projects
  5. Provide data-driven recommendations to the finance team
  6. Prepare monthly/quarterly financial analysis packets for management and staff
Skills and Qualifications:
  1. Majoring in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or closely-related degree
  2. Junior or senior year of college
  3. Minimum GPA of 3.0
  4. Advanced MS Office skills, including use of Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Tableau
  5. QuickBooks and/or construction and/or project management experience is a plus, but not required
  6. Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
  7. Highly motivated with a desire to learn and grow for the experience
  8. Ability to critically think and a willingness to share ideas and collaborate with the team
  9. Experience and/or deep passion for mission-driven work in low-resource communities
  10. Advanced MS Office skills, including use of Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Tableau
  11. QuickBooks and/or construction experience is a plus, but not required.
